Selection criteria of thickness of PVB film for facade laminated glass
0.1 Scope of application:
It is suitable for common laminated glass, plain tempered and heat reinforced laminated glass, bending tempered or bending heat reinforced laminated glass and hot bending laminated glass.

0.2 PVB selection criteria
A-Raw Laminated glass
Raw laminated glass refers to laminated glass substrate for the annealed float glass, excluding bullet-proof glass, aquarium glass and multi-layer laminated glass.

Note: 1) The thickness of substrate glass should be chosen according to the thickness of the thicker substrate in laminated glass, and the surface quality of the substrate should meet the corresponding float glass standards.

2) Bullet-proof glass shall be inspected and recorded by relevant departments, and its PVB thickness shall follow the standard type and shall not be changed.

3)Aquarium glass and multi-layer laminated glass need to be analyzed and calculated scientifically to determine the thickness of PVB film because of their complicated mechanical condition and structure.

B-Flat tempered and thermally reinforced laminated glass

For tempered or thermally reinforced sandwich products, the inevitable glass waveform and arch deformation will occur during tempering, and the gap between the glass caused by this deformation will be filled by PVB film.

The standard for deformation of national inter layer is not more than 3 per thousand.

The selection of PVB thickness for plain tempered and heat strengthened laminated glass is as follows:

Note: 1) In order to ensure that there is no edge degumming and bubbles in the glass during the warranty period, and to ensure the safety performance of the glass, avoid potential safety hazards and subsequent losses, the selection of PVB film should be strict.

2) For plain tempered and heat-reinforced laminated glass, when the thickness difference between the two glass sheets is more than 3 mm, this structure is not recommended because of the unreasonable stress structure. If used persisting, the thickness of PVB must be increased by 0.38mm on the basis of corresponding regulations.

3) For monolithic tempered or thermally reinforced sandwich glass, this kind of structure is not recommended because of the instability of thermal explosion and the unreasonable stress structure. If it is used consistently, the thickness of PVB should be increased by 0.38 mm on the basis of the relevant regulations, and the non-tempered or thermally reinforced glass should not be responsible for the rupture.

4) For special-shaped tempered and heat-reinforced laminated glass, the thickness of PVB should be increased by 0.38 mm on the basis of the corresponding regulations because of the large deformation at the edge of the special-shaped glass.

5) For flat tempered and heat reinforced sandwich glass, when the height and width of the glass are greater than 800 mm, and the ratio is close to 1, the glass waveform is difficult to control when tempered or heat strengthened, and large deformation will occur. The thickness of PVB should be increased by 0.38 mm on the basis of corresponding regulations.

6)the thickness of the substrate glass is chosen as the thickness of the thicker slice in the laminated glass substrate.

C-CURVED TEMPERED LAMINATED GLASS

Bending tempered, thermally reinforced laminated glass and thermally bent laminated glass

Bending tempered sandwich glass is increasingly used in buildings because of its unique structural form and good safety performance, but it also brings many problems. Many curved tempered laminated glass have been found to be glued and bubbled at the edge shortly after the completion of the project, which has brought great losses to both the manufacturer and the owner.

The curvature error and toughening deformation of curved and tempered sandwich glass determine that the thickness of PVB film in the middle of sandwich glass is thicker than that of ordinary sandwich glass, and the thickness is 2.28mm.

The selection of PVB for laminated and heat strengthened laminated glass and thermally bent laminated glass is followed by the following table:

2) bending and tempering glass must meet the requirements of bending and tempered glass processing.

3) hot bending glass must meet the corresponding requirements for hot bending glass processing.
